From the 'Quest for Truth: Mysteries of the Bible' series from National Geographic.
I was art director for the VFX, but I also kicked in some key matte paintings here and there. This one was created primarily as a 'style guide'. They were looking for a painterly, but realistic look. This was to be turned into a matte projection with a heavy camera move... so I went for a saturated, golden tone that was easy to toy with in comp. The Temple itself was a miniature that needed a lot of work.
